Art Basel 2025: Saat Kota Jadi Kanvas

Art Basel tahun ini makin berani main di luar galeri. Di bawah arahan Stefanie Hessler, kurator yang balik lagi buat edisi kedua, sektor Parcours hadir dengan tema “Second Nature”. Ini tentu mengubah sudut-sudut kota Basel jadi ruang pamer seni yang nggak biasa.

Mulai dari gereja, lorong bawah tanah, sampai pusat perbelanjaan, karya-karya dari seniman internasional dihadirkan dalam bentuk video, instalasi, patung, hingga kolase skala besar. Semuanya dibikin site-specific, alias dirancang langsung untuk tempat-tempat unik di kota ini.

Salah satu yang paling mencuri perhatian? Proyeksi video 21 meter karya Sturtevant (ikon seni konseptual) yang menampilkan anjing berlari tanpa henti di sebuah underpass dekat sungai. Tempat ini bukan cuma ruang seni, tapi juga spot jalan-jalan favorit anjing dan pemiliknya. Jadi, konteksnya dapet banget.

Tema “Second Nature” sendiri dibagi jadi tiga lapisan: Soal dampak manusia ke alam, kebiasaan yang membentuk kita, dan arus informasi yang terus membanjiri hidup sehari-hari.

Lewat pendekatan yang cair dan kolaboratif dengan para seniman serta pemilik lokasi, Stefanie membawa Parcours makin dekat ke publik. Seni nggak lagi eksklusif di dalam gedung, tapi hidup, nyata, dan hadir di jalanan.
