“Chameleon Style” Ala Atsushi Hasegawa: Random, Real, & Relatable

Kalau lagi main ke The Newt di Somerset, Inggris, dan lihat seseorang jalan santai di taman pakai boater hat, kemeja linen panjang, atau jaket kerja ala kimono, kemungkinan besar itu Atsushi Hasegawa. Creative head di hotel luxury ini nggak cuma jago bikin konsep visual, tapi juga punya style yang nyentrik dan otentik.

Lahir di Jepang, Hasegawa mulai terjun ke dunia fesyen di akhir ‘80-an. Waktu itu ia bekerja di toko Vivienne Westwood di Tokyo dan ngulik banget gaya hip-hop, Yohji Yamamoto, sampai Stüssy. Passion-nya bahkan sempat bawa dia ke Paris buat kerja di toko peralatan fly fishing, sebelum akhirnya gabung Clarks, dan kini mengurusi seluruh branding juga partnership budaya di The Newt.

Soal style, Hasegawa bilang dia itu “chameleon”, nggak suka terpaku satu gaya. Kadang bisa full pink jumpsuit ke pantai, kadang juga tampil chill pakai baju longgar yang breathable. Katanya, apa yang dia pakai selalu cerminan mood hari itu: Kalau lagi stres, tampilannya lebih punk; kalau santai, ya lebih laidback.

Uniknya, Hasegawa nggak pernah nyusun outfit jauh-jauh hari. Semua spontan, cuma butuh waktu 20 menit buat nyocokin look dari satu item utama. Prinsipnya? “Fashion itu tempatku nemuin joy.”

Dan yang paling keren,Hasegawa bukan tipe fast fashion. Dia masih punya baju dari usia 18, karena percaya kalau gaya personal itu soal relasi panjang sama pakaian, bukan tren musiman.
