Two of Zara's official advertisements were officially withdrawn from the circulation after being considered to display a model that looked "too thin unhealthy". British Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) mention one of the models looks thin because of lighting and tight hair style backwards, While other models show a striking collarbone due to low -cutting shirts and designs.
Asa assesses that the advertisements are "not responsible" and order not to be aired again in the same form. Zara himself immediately deleted the content and stated that the two models had a health certificate from a professional doctor during the photo session.
The advertisement had appeared on Zara's application and website in Carousel format. One of the drawn is a short dress ad, where the shadow and position of the model's arm is considered to make his body look too thin and disproportionate.
Similar cases previously also happened to m&S and NEXT, whose advertisements are blocked because they are considered to be lying on unhealthy body standards.
Responding to this criticism, Zara said that his party had followed the guidelines for the report Fashioning a Healthy Future, including health check requirements for all models used.
