Ven Space: Toko Kecil di Brooklyn yang Punya Rasa Besar

Di tengah gempuran belanja online yang serba cepat, ada satu spot di Brooklyn yang justru ngelawan arus. Namanya Ven Space, sebuah butik kecil di kawasan Carroll Gardens yang dibuka oleh Chris Green. Vibes-nya bukan sekadar toko, tapi lebih ke ruang hangat buat komunitas, tempat untuk bisa stay lebih lama cuma buat ngobrolin detail baju atau eksplor brand yang jarang masuk radar.

Uniquely, Ven Space nggak jualan online. Kalau mau ngintip kurasi barang-barangnya yang super personal, from fashion, footwear, sampai aksesori, ya harus datang langsung. Di dalamnya, there is brand kayak Auralee asal Jepang, Camiel Fortgens dari Belanda, sampai Dries Van Noten yang elegan tapi santai. Bahkan keramik-keramik artistik yang mejeng di sudut pun bisa dibawa pulang.

Chris Green sendiri turun langsung di lantai toko tiap hari, layaknya shopkeeper old-school. “Banyak yang lupa esensi asli dari pengalaman belanja langsung,” katanya. Ven sendiri diambil dari bahasa Denmark yang berarti “teman,” dan sesuai namanya, tempat ini emang punya pendekatan yang lebih akrab dan personal.

Tiap item di-display karena selera Chris, bukan tren musiman. “Gue nggak pengen jadi toko yang sok bisa memuaskan semua orang. Fokus itu penting,” ujarnya. Alih-alih jualan massal, dia mulai dari pertanyaan simpel: baju kayak apa sih yang benar-benar pengen dipakai sendiri?

Baru buka sembilan bulan, tapi Ven Space udah punya fans setia yang rutin mampir tiap minggu. Dan nggak heran sih, ini bukan sekadar tempat beli baju, tapi tempat ngerasain kembali sensasi belanja yang terasa lebih nyata.
